About the Author


At the onset of World War II, Monique de Jong and her family were ordered by the French government to evacuate the border province of Alsace and resettle in a village of Southwestern France. They nevertheless suffered a deadly German occupation, which is the basis of the novel, Into Crosswinds. After spending many years in Washington, D.C. as Assistant Professor at American University, she and her husband now enjoy life in Arizona.

Monique Ward won second place in the Historical Fiction category in the Colorado Independent Publishers Association, (CIPA EVVY), 2016 competition.
